Course Description
All courses will run through scenic Kiawah Island. Enjoy maritime forest, marsh views and grand homes as you run through the island community. All participants will have 8 hours to complete the course. The course will officially close at 4pm. Be aware that during the race, roads are open to automobile traffic. Please note: A majority of the course lies within a secure private community and is not accessible by vehicle for preview prior to the race.

Race Numbers
Race numbers have been assigned to all pre-registered entrants. Please use the safety pins to attach the number to the front chest area of your outside garment. 1-4000 (white) series will identify a half marathon runner and a 5000 - 6500 (yellow) series will identify a full marathon runner.

Race Start
Both races start and finish in East Beach Village. ALL RUNNERS BE READY FOR THE 8 A.M. START! This race is not seeded, however we do ask late arrivals to join the group at the end of the line.

Mileage Markers
The course will be marked with signs, arrows and race monitors. Mileage increments will be marked every mile and water stations are placed approximately every 2 miles. Digital clocks will be placed at key mile markers for split times.

Water Refill Stations
Water refill stations are placed approximately every two miles and are supplied with Applachian Water and lemon-lime Gatorade. Volunteers will present water first and Gatorade second, and lastly a water refill station. The volunteers distributing Gatorade will be wearing yellow jerseys. Additionally, bananas and oranges will be available until the supply is depleted.

First Aid
A medical team from Trident Sports Medicine will be available at the finish line, at various locations on the course, and in the Conference Center for any runners in need of medical attention. A medical team from the Medical University of South Carolina will follow the runners through the completion of all races and will be available to assist any runner in the case of an emergency.
